Only the roof top was open last weekend which was fine, it was a beautiful night to enjoy the sunset. Service was fast and the food was good and had decent portions. With happy hour prices the bill wasn't bad but would have been expensive without the discounts.
Wonderful time at Caliente. The place was busy, but manager TJ really helped us out. Food and drink were delicious. BEST GUAC EVER! Great vibe and view. If you have not been in a while...go!

We stopped for dinner on our first night in Tahoe. Great rooftop seating area and some of the best fresh made chips and salsa ever.
Love the good food, service is great. Very friendly and welcoming. Waiter is very helpful. Love the fajitas and nachos we ordered . The chips were done pretty thin and light. It melts on my mouth. Its filling the food is so delicious . Love it! I don't mind coming back again.
Fan favorite is the prickly pear, but it's not included in HH. The food was good! The chicken was hidden in under a layer of chips. Loved the queso on the nachos. The quesadilla was oily but filling! Two starters + two chupas on happy hour ~$60
I had low expectations after reading the other Yelp reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. We had a pretty large group (about 12 people) and the service was great. The food is definitely overpriced. I don't think the value is worth the price of the food, but it was still good. I enjoyed my enchiladas and my husband seemed to enjoy the fish tacos. The enchiladas were definitely small, but they were flavorful. Chips and salsa and guacamole were good. If you're familiar with the Wet Woody drink from Garwoods and Riva Grille, then you'll be happy to know that Caliente also has the signature drink, with tequila instead of rum. Because of the big group, we got pitchers of the drink instead of individual glasses. Definitely more cost effective. Not my favorite place at the lake, but a good option for the Kings Beach area! The upstairs deck is nice!
